Join a North American Leader in Watermain Rehabilitation

With over 30 years of expertise, FER-PAL is a recognized leader in delivering innovative and sustainable watermain rehabilitation solutions across North America. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Certified Payroll Specialist to join our team in Michigan.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail oriented payroll professional who values accuracy, compliance, and collaboration. In this role, you’ll ensure smooth, compliant payroll operations while supporting HR and administrative initiatives that keep our people at the heart of what we do.

What You’ll Do

Payroll & Compliance

  • Process accurate weekly payroll for U.S. employees.

  • Track time and calculate wages for Prevailing Wage employees.

  • Prepare and submit Certified Payroll Reports (LCPTracker, eComply).

  • Ensure full compliance with payroll laws and maintain organized, up-to-date records.

  • Support audits, manage 401(k) and vacation pay tracking, and collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams.

HR & Administrative Support

  • Ensure wages and benefits align with Prevailing Wage and contractual requirements.

  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes.

  • Help track diversity initiatives and maintain Apprenticeship Program compliance.

Job requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field.

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience (construction or public sector preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of Certified Payroll and Prevailing Wage regulations.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation required.

  • Expert Excel and Microsoft Office skills required.
