Job description
This position reports to the Manager, Project Accounting and provides support to Project Managers throughout the financial lifecycle of projects ensuring accurate, timely and complete information for all accounting activities from project set-up, cost recording, revenue recognition, project forecasting and project closure for Fer-Pal’s Canadian and US business entities..
Responsibilities:
Provide accounting oversight on multiple projects (cost allocation, expense review).
Attend project meetings to review financial performance.
Handle month-end close activities: revenue/cost estimates, accruals, and adjustments.
Ensure accurate reflection of project financials (costs, revenue, billing).
Review and post project invoices; record payments and receipts.
Maintain up-to-date ERP project data (including POs and change orders).
Verify contract compliance and documentation for audit readiness.
Assist with project reserves and audit support.
Prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
Job requirements
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of project accounting experience, ideally in the construction industry.
Post-secondary education in Accounting.
CPA in progress (required).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience with ERP systems (Viewpoint) and Spreadsheet Server is an asset.
Ability to manage priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
